LONGHORN Package

RAM H/Duty trucks, 2500 Series and 3500 Series:

(Remember, to tell the actual Year Model of the Ram you are considering to purchase, check the tenth digit of the vehicle’s 17 digit VIN [Vehicle Identification Number]. 2015 Year Models will be an ‘F’. If it is a ‘E’, it is a 2014 Year Model, a ‘D’ means a 2013 Year Model. An example of a typical 2015 Year Model Ram’s VIN is: 3C6UR1FL2FG123456. You see, the 10^th (tenth) digit along that VIN number is an ‘F’, designating it as a genuine 2015 Year Model)

CONFIGURATION: 

Longhorn models are available in: 

• either the Crewcab or Megacab cab’s (Regular cab not available with the Longhorn Package, is only available with the SLT or Tradesman Packages). 
• either a shortbed (Crewcab & Megacab) or longbed version (Crewcab only). 
• Shortbed is 1.93 metres (6’4”) inside the bed dimensions. 
• Longbed is 2.44 metres (8’) inside the bed dimensions. 
• In the 3500 Series Laramie, the Dually option (D.R.W.–Dual Rear Wheels) is available on the Megacab/shortbed or the Crewcab/Longbed. 
• So the varying cab/bed/rear axle combinations for the Longhorn Package, in either the 2500 Series or 3500 Series, are: 
• • Cab/Bed: Crewcab/Short Bed S.R.W. (Sales Code 91)  
  • Cab/Bed: Crewcab/Long Bed S.R.W. (Sales Code 92)

There are seven main Package levels offered. In order of levels, from the top, most expensive Package down to the base, least expensive Package offered, are:  

Longhorn, Limited, Laramie, Lone Star, Bighorn, SLT, and Tradesman

Limited            A non-Western version of the Longhorn and the most

than the Laramie Package, but comes with the RamBox® as standard, which is worth US$1,300 itself. 5 seater only offered.  

Laramie           Most popular, highly equipped, has Leather interior  

and quite a few luxury and appearance items and is the  

most versatile in various options, seating, colours and  

combinations   

Lonestar             An slightly optioned SLT withTexas styling (Lone Star state  

Edition, Texas is the ‘Lone Star’ state in the USA) 

Bighorn               A slightly optioned SLT model 

SLT                   Between a Laramie and Tradesman model 

Tradesman      Highest payload and towing specs, but is the Base model  

                        designed as a work truck. Previously known in earlier Year  

Models as the ‘ST’ Package.  

We start below this with the top of the range Package we sell, the Longhorn.

The 2015 Longhorn has basically everything the Laramie Package has, plus the following that the Laramie does not have as standard features (briefly noted here, scroll down for more detail and a complete feature listing): 

·         All Longhorn’s are 5 seater’s only (approx’ US$500 option on the Laramie) 

·         All Longhorn’s have 2-tone interior only 

·         All Longhorn’s, when in 2-tone exterior colours, have White Gold lower paint and painted bumper bars. Monotone exterior paint is optional (the optional exterior Monotone paint has Chrome front and rear bumper bars as standard) 

·         All Longhorn’s have Premium full leather interiors 

·         All Longhorn’s have the unique Longhorn badging, Longhorn Silver faced (with scrolling) instrument cluster, and saddlebags on the back of the front seats, plus Longhorn floor mats 

·         All Longhorn’s have heated second row seats 

·         All Longhorn’s have GPS Navigation in the 8.4AN Multi-media centre (Road mapping, we install the Australian mapping as well) (approx’ US$500 option on the Laramie) 

·         All Longhorn’s have the Remote start system (approx’ US$200 option on the Laramie) 

·         All Longhorn’s have power pedals (brake and accelerator) (approx’ US$150 option on the Laramie) 

·         All Longhorn’s have the spray-in bedliner as standard (approx’ US$475 option on the Laramie) 

·         All Longhorn’s have running boards as standard (with 2-tone exterior paint) 

So for approximately US$5,500 more than a Laramie, you get about US$2,500 worth of features over the standard Laramie, but are paying around US$3,000 for the rest of it, being the heated rear (back) seats and the fancy badging, seatback saddlebags, etc.

• Electronic Range Select allows the driver to manually limit the highest available transmission gear, thereby enabling manual upshifts and downshifts based on road speed and engine speed. The manual over-ride gear shift selector is on the gear stick on the steering column 
• Tow / Haul mode improves vehicle performance during trailer towing or heavy-load hauling. When Tow / Haul mode is selected, a revised shift schedule is used to provide more power and reduce transmission shift changes and “gear hunting.” The Tow / Haul switch is located in the center stack of the instrument panel. 
• ParkSense Rear Park Assist System. It is an audible warning system for when reversing 
• ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera. It is a (full colour) camera system for when reversing. Activated automatically when reverse is selected. Video displayed in the Radio/Multimedia Centre 
• Remote Keyless Entry with All-Secure Sentry Key® (also locks the tailgate) Theft Deterrent System that has an engine immobiliser. Also the system controls the power door locks, tailgate, RamBox® System, illuminated entry system and panic alarm
